TaxFlare began as a partnership between a software developer and a tax consultant. One brought years of experience in coding and technology. The other had worked with FTSE companies in Fintech, Gaming, and IT. Together, they saw a need for tax professionals who understand both the fast-moving world of tech and the details of UK tax.

Accounts to Balance began in 2010 as a humble start-up. There were no clients, no revenue, and just one staff member working from a spare bedroom.
Having been a start-up ourselves, we understand the struggles founders face. Tech businesses run on innovation, determination, and big goals. However, without the right financial guidance, growth can stall. We share that entrepreneurial spirit and combine it with the expertise to help you succeed.
Today, we have a core team in Hertfordshire and a staff member in Germany. By working remotely, we keep overheads low — an approach we also recommend to our clients.

With over 20 years of finance expertise, Manda is your trusted advisor for handling tax challenges with ease. She’s worked with well-known companies like Hewlett Packard, Play.com, Domino’s Pizza, and Spire Healthcare, helping them turn tax rebates into opportunities for growth.
Whether it’s navigating the labyrinth of employment taxes or liaising with HMRC, Manda has the skills to boost your business.
Manda is a fellow of the chartered certified accountants (ACCA), a fellow of the association of taxation technicians (ATT), a chartered tax advisor (CTA) and holds an advanced diploma in international tax (ADIT). In addition, she sits on the CIOT International Committee and is a member of the worshipful company of tax advisors.
Fun Fact: When she’s not conjuring financial spells, Manda’s a hula hoop artist and a passionate charity campaigner for rabbit welfare and Alzheimer’s!
Oliver
Technical Advisor
Oliver holds a PhD in Physics and has worked across several technical fields including quantum computing, high performance computing and nuclear fusion research.
He acts as a technical advisor for the company (in addition to regularly fixing Manda’s computers and hula hoops).
Fun Fact: Oliver is fluent in both English and German and is currently learning Japanese.
Sonya
Finance Analyst
Meet Sonya, our finance expert with a love for the culinary world! She combines her expertise in financial management with experience in catering, particularly within the construction industry, where she effectively handles cost analysis, budgeting, and operational planning.
Fun Fact: Sonya’s also a superstar in the community, having fostered over 94 kids in 32 years and earning several awards along the way. Talk about a recipe for success!
Peter
Marketing Manager
Peter is our marketing maestro with a twist! After rocking a Nursing Scholarship and training across Wales, London, and Hertfordshire, he swapped scrubs for strategies, diving into corporate marketing post-retirement from Lister Hospital I.T.U. And yes, he was once crowned Nurse of the Year!
